ANDREW MARTIN
LIVE BRIEF
This project was developed in response to a competition brief set by Andrew Martin. The brief invited illustrators to create a series of artworks celebrating five influential figures in the history of art, architecture, and design, with selected illustrations intended for inclusion within a pop-up book publication.

Drawing on historical research and visual storytelling, I explored the lives, achievements, and most significant works of each designer through a series of editorial-style illustrations. The project required the interpretation of diverse architectural and cultural subjects, ranging from Ancient Greece and Renaissance Italy to Imperial China.
Working within a consistent illustrative style, I developed a collection of compositions designed to balance historical accuracy with atmosphere and narrative. Through the process, I explored how illustration can communicate heritage, craftsmanship, and historical significance while engaging contemporary audiences.
